Episode 35 – Die Hard, Apple

This week: Dave and James takes the reins while Justin is off being a mountain man.

Bruce Willis hates Apple. Well not really, but who are we to let facts get in the way of journalism? HBO is “Going” to Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Kim Dotcom is coming back, and this time he will be invincible. All of this and more awesome, Justin-free goodness in Technophilia podcast Episode 35: Die Hard Apple.

James tells us how to use Movies.io and download torrents on iPad. Snazzy.

And as always, the juicy headlines:

ps; sorry to those of you who submitted a recording – Dave and James aren’t used to dealing with that, so we totally forgot about them. Will be in next weeks show when Justin is back to keep us in check.

Physical media may not last forever, but I'm allowed to make a digital backup copy of any physical media I buy.

I think HBO are releasing in the Nordic country because they, especially Sweden, are known for having loose piracy laws. If they can make it there, it will bode well for other countries.

I can't comment on Metal Gear because I haven't played it, but Tome Raider was epic. Angel Of Darkness can go to hell, but all of the original ones was good. Legend was good but too short, and Anniversary was a decent redux. Even Underworld wasn't bad. The mixture of adventure and puzzle is good, and the enemies tend to be mere distractions.

@Scutterman I think I hated Metal Gear because I was expecting a shooter. It's really more of a 3D puzzle game.

@James Bruce  @Scutterman I intend to play it at some point, but I think I'd get bored of the stealth type stuff. I'm okay with a bit of sneaking, but doing it for a whole game seems a bit pointless.

That's the reason I have yet to complete Assassin's Creed. Not only is it a game about sneaking, but it makes you so overpowered there's no challenge to it.
